Retro Radio Memories Podcast – Episode 008 (Martin & Lewis)

Welcome back friends to the Retro Radio Memories podcast! Each podcast my co-host, the Projectionist and I will briefly discuss a classic old time radio show before sharing said program with you listeners. This week this Projectionist is absent leaving me as sole host and this time I am sharing an episode of the 1949 Martin and Lewis radio series and the special guest star for the show is John Carradine!

If you have any suggestions for radio programs you would like for us to cover in the future or comments, email them to me at VicSage@Retroist.Com. You can also follow me on Twitter and on Facebook.

Music on the show was provided by Peachy (the Dick Stabile of Wales), if you have musical needs, why not contact Peachy at peachy@Retroist.Com. And be sure to “Like” him on his Facebook page.

  1. “See you folks next week…we hope!”
John Carradine as a guest and then Ralph Bellamy for next week?
    You are right, Vic.
It seems that the Martin & Lewis radio show was kind of low rent and struggling with establishing itself in popularity.
    Wonder why?

  2. Yeah. It seems like they got in like five more writers by the Fall season of the show, RetroArt. That looks to have been key in them finding their rhythm and the fact they changed the format up from “Here is how we interact with the guest star” of the week to owning a night club.

Assuming the Projectionist doesn’t object too much I bet we will be revisiting the Martin and Lewis show in the future. :)
