This classic commercial seemed to run forever and boy was it popular in my hometown. Maybe it was because we had a lot of people named Anthony? Maybe we just love spaghetti? I am not sure, but this ad was often quoted on my block, especially on Fridays which was a big pasta day in my town.
The ad I remember was a lot shorter than this version and had a lot less information, especially about the neighborhood in it, which is why I never associated this ad with its proper origin of Boston. I always just assumed this was New York City, which shows you just how universal an ad that is supposed to appeal to a regional market can be.
Wednesday is Prince Spaghetti Day everywhere.
