Willie Nelson for Wrangler Jeans

The Red Headed Stranger was a popular figure in my household growing up. My Mom went through a protracted country music phase that had us traveling around to obscure country fairs so that she could see artists she liked (Conway Twitty knows how to run a country fair stage). One artist you did not need to track down living close to New York City was Willie Nelson. No Willie was a crossover star who played big venues in the 1980s and who also had endorsement deals.

One of those deals was for Wrangler jeans. I remember this because once a year I would get a pair from my grandmother for Christmas and they were always the wrong size so I had to go to K-mart to exchange them and while there I remember seeing some signage with Nelson in it.
