Not only does this classic ad for Wendy’s feature a geriatric precision surf board drill team doing all sorts of shtick, but it is also talking about an exciting offer, the Jaz Cap for just $1.99. I have seen many of these caps at flea markets over the years and it took me a while before someone was able to tell me where they came from.
They are the type of caps, that require a lot of gravitas to pull off. Something these surfer guys have in spades. These hats might have been invented for them to wear. That was not something I was able to pull off in 1987 and certainly not something I could wear comfortably today.
