Where would you spend your Quarters at the Arcade?

I found this cartoon in an early eighties magazine and it pretty much captured my dilemma when I went to the arcades. So many good games and only so many quarters. Of course, my bag of quarters was not quite as robust as this fellows, but the decision was just as seemingly overwhelming.

Great cartoon and a legit dilemma. My quarters went to Phoenix- still my all time favorite game.

I don’t know why I forgot about that arcade game; it was my immediate go-to-game if spotted in an arcade. I think because it was easy and I was relatively good at it.
I love Defender but am a very poor player.

I’d usually go for Centipede, Pacman, Donkey Kong, and Galaga….and Dig Dug, if I had the time.

    I was a Joust-er, most times.
But on this line-up, it would’ve either been the cartoony fun of Pac-Man (gotta see that next animated sequence!), or the space adventure of Asteroids (one of the most rewarding ship-controls to have hit the arcades).

I’d head straight for Berzerk, unless they had Star Wars. And if they had the cockpit version of Star Wars, I wasn’t likely to head anywhere else.
