Retro Records: I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (1952)

Welcome back to a new installment of Retro Records. This go around it seemed that with it being the Holiday season we should share something that might help you get into the festive spirit and thankfully Kiddie Records Weekly with this Captiol Records release of “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” and ” Where Did My Snowman Go?” fits the bill.

Both of these popular tunes were sung by Molly Bee, who was signed on by Capitol Records at the tender age of thirteen in 1952, two years later she was hired to appear alongside Tennessee Ernie Ford in his daily variety show that ran on NBC from 1955 to 1957. During her career she would go on to release 5 albums with 12 songs from those albums becoming hit singles, Molly would also perform in Vegas and even join Bob Hope for USO tours!

So grab a cup of eggnog and pull up a seat by the fireplace as we enjoy Molly Bee’s performance here on Retro Records.
