The 4th Doctor Who Intro On A 31 Year Old TRS-80!

Doctor Who - TRS 80
Okay. This might very well be the most awesome thing you are going to see on the internet today. Thanks to gp2K00’s YouTube channel you can see him play the intro to the Tom Baker Doctor Who series on his TRS-80! I have to say that for a 31-year-old computer the TRS-80 seems to do a pretty amazing job, of course it does involve a bit of on the fly floppy disk switching on gp2000’s part.

A big thanks to the Extreme Tech site for the heads up on not only the videos but for explaining how gp2000 pulled off this nifty feat. In the video presented below you can hear the audio for the intro just a little bit better.

  1. Awesome! What with the exactingly-timed switching of floppies it’s not just a demonstration of cool retro technology but also suspenseful performance art.
