Are You Ready For A Look At The New King’s Quest Game?

King's Quest
It has been 16 years since the last time a new King’s Quest title has been released. So imagine the surprise I felt when this video was shared with me this morning heralding that Sierra Games is set to release a brand new King’s Quest in the Fall of 2015?

The setup for the game is that King Graham (The hero from the original series) is telling of his exploits in his younger days to his Granddaughter, Gewndolyn. It looks like it will be released for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and of course for the PC.

It doesn’t look like it will be following the point and click format but the press release does say:
“Developed by The Odd Gentlemen, the new King’s Quest™ reimagines all the charm, humor, puzzles, exploration and sense of wonder that made the franchise so magical when it first arrived thirty years ago.”

Thanks Vic – I’ve been following this with a great deal of interest, but hadn’t seen the trailer yet. And…I’m sort of disappointed. I was really hoping for the old school point and click magic. But, I’m trying to keep an open mind about this. Just not sure that anything will live up to the original on my trusty PCjr – at the time, it was simply amazing.

  2. I hear ya, Vinvectrex. I think you are doing the right thing though by keeping an open mind with this title, hopefully it’ll still have that King’s Quest feeling…and I have a suspicion that in this case they will. :)
