The 1980s were a simpler time when we could appreciate a commercial about Lil’ Tommy Edison unencumbered by the stories of him electrocuting elephants or by comparisons of him to the more brilliant Lil’ Nicky Tesla.
I remember this ad because I thought they really nailed the casting with this kid. I had a few pictures of Edison in my home library and this kid captured his look perfectly. The end, with its ode to the dog Nipper from “His Masters Voice” that was used in several recording company logos, makes for a great little easter egg.
