This commercial is so triumphant and upbeat that nearly 30 years later I can still sing along to it. I guess there is no rules to advertising, but it almost feels wrong that a deodorant commercial is so memorable and stirring. But I guess in its way, deodorant can be empowering if it allows you to do something that your were previously embarrassed to do.
The thing was, before I saw this commercial, I didn’t even think to check under my arms for wetness or dryness. So this was the commercial that not only taught me to not be embarrassed because I used SURE, but that I also should be embarrassed for not using SURE.
