Panasonic OmniMovie Commercial featuring Universal Studios’ “The Adventures of Conan: A Sword and Sorcery Spectacular”

The Panasonic OmniMovie looks pretty cool. I like the idea of having my camera and video player merged into one unit (like my phone), but that message is almost lost to me because of the backdrop of they chose to film this commercial against, Universal Studios’ “The Adventures of Conan: A Sword and Sorcery Spectacular!” I never got out to Universal Studios in the 1980s or 1990s and I didn’t even know they had a Conan themed attraction, which is weird, because I love theme parks and the original Conan film.

Now that I do know that it exists, I have been watching fan videos of the show and I have to say it is more magical than I expected.

Plus someone posted this behind the scenes video…

  1. Max Power says:

I think Panasonic also had combo VCR/camera units where the tape player/recorder was detachable from the rest of the VCR (where the tuner and input/outputs stayed connected to the TV), and then hung from a shoulder strap and connected to the camera with a cable. It seemed like a better system than the 20 lb cameras of the era.
