Jim Rockford By Mike Norton

We’ve lost some important people in the entertainment industry the last couple of weeks. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Marilyn Burns passed away just last Tuesday and of course we lost the legendary James Garner on July 19th. I for one have found myself watching a lot of the Rockford Files on netflix lately, I truly liked Garner as an actor and was impressed by his personal life.

It would seem that Mike Norton, sequential artist on the Runaways, Gravity, as well as Green Arrow/Black Canary was also sad to hear of Garner’s passing as he presented this piece of art showcasing Jim Rockford at the end of one of his cases back in his mobile home…or possibly the end of the case came to its conclusion there considering the state of the decor.

I love that Norton has included the iconic answering machine in the art.

Speaking of that answering machine, here are the messages from the intros of season one.

A huge thanks to Andy Khouri from Comics Alliance for the heads up on the artwork.
