Atari: Game Over Trailer Debuts!

Atari Game Over - XBox
One of the most exciting things I’ve seen from the Comic-Con this year was this debut for the Atari: Game Over trailer by Microsoft. This is the documentary by Zak Penn (X-Men 2, The Incredible Hulk) that you might recall hearing about a few months ago when they began to excavate dumped Atari cartridges from the Alamogordo, New Mexico landfill. While the trailer definitely seems to be playing to the Atari’s E.T. was the worst video game ever made crowd, what really took me by surprise is the angle on Howard Scott Warshaw (Yar’s Revenge, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T.) and this is definitely what makes me want to see this documentary very badly.

A rough cut screening for the documentary at Comic-Con is said to have been met with standing ovation, so I think that’s a good sign of what is to come this Fall. I believe it will be made available to all XBOX Gold members on it’s release, we will update as we learn more about it.

Hadn’t heard of this, but seems like the ideal topic for a documentary. Can’t wait to see it!

  2. I’ll make sure to do a review once it’s been released, Vinvectrex. Have you possibly heard about the documentary entitled “Video Games: The Movie”?
