Forgive me readers for venturing so close to NSFW territory with this post but after seeing the above VHS cover for Cinderella 2000, I just had to do a little digging into this intriguing 1977 title.
The IMDB page for this film states the plot thus: In the year 2047, sex is forbidden and Big Brother uses robots to keep on eye on everyone. One young girl tries to outwit the government so she can be with the man she loves. The trailer really has to be seen to be believed!
I’m not convinced that the ‘plot’ is anything other than a reason to invoke the spirit of Barbarella but I am impressed that the creators went with a sci-fi/musical/comedy/soft-porn combination to get the story out to the masses. I also love the various posters that were released for this movie, especially these two:
I’ll finish this post with the catchphrase from the robots who enforce the no-sex law in the film… “Fornication without sanction! Fornication without sanction!”.
