A few years ago I heard a song on the radio where a rapper basically just sang lots of words in alphabetical order. At the time I remember thinking it was cool enough for me to take note of the artist and look into later but, this being the days before Shazam, I didn’t catch the name of the song or those responsible and that memory has laid dormant ever since.
Until a chance encounter with the video below which, as luck would have it, is the exact song heard all those years ago – the Alphabet Aerobics track by American Hip-Hop duo Blackalicious from 1999.
As far as I can tell, there isn’t an original video for this song. The video above is a student art project using Kinetic Typography. When I looked further, I found a glut of other similar ‘projects’. By far my favourite is this:
