I know this isn’t exactly Godzilla but 1977’s The Last Dinosaur most certainly features a man in a suit…when it’s not a puppet. When it first aired on ABC I was staying at my Grandparents house for the weekend and wasn’t sure what to expect but found myself being totally delighted by it in all of it’s high camp, even if that wasn’t it’s intention. I also was lucky enough to catch it a year later at the 62 Drive-In, the same place where I would watch the Godzilla marathon.
The good news is if you are trying to get in the spirit of the older Godzilla films before the new one hits theaters on Friday you can order it from the Warner Archive!
A big thanks to the space1970 Blog for the TV guide image up top.
