Bob Costas Interviews Raymond Burr About 1956’s Godzilla

Raymond Burr - Godzilla
With the new Godzilla film opening later this week it seemed the perfect time for the Retroist site to tip it’s hat in a week long celebration of the many ways that this daikaiju, this King of the Monsters has won our hearts. For myself I was lucky enough to catch a marathon of films at the 62 Drive-In, it was the first time I was introduced to Raymond Burr and later that evening where I also became a fan of Mechagodzilla. Now to be fair I think 1954’s Gojira is the superior film for obvious reasons but I’ll always have a soft spot for the American version thanks to Raymond Burr.

  1. Brad says:

For karmic balance, one of these new Godzillas should get actor Steve Martin to play a character called Raymond Burr.
