Retro Vehicles by SM-Artworks

SM-Artworks

Browsing around Etsy during my lunch break and stumbled upon the art of SM-Artworks – a very talented artist who creates some great retro pieces. I particularly enjoyed his vehicle prints.

The Knight Rider/Airwolf/A-Team/Streethawk print above is my favourite, but the Honky Tonk work below featuring Smokey and the Bandit’s Trans Am, The Dukes of Hazzard’s General Lee and the Gran Torino from Starsky and Hutch is a very close second!

Check out the Etsy shop for more work from the artist, including a very nice James Bond piece featuring various Aston Martin’s.

I’d like to see this guy do some transformers, the car from Ghostbusters, the Ecto 1 from the live action Ghostbusters, and maybe some characters from GI JOE. Oh, and the Rockin’ Roller from JEM.

  2. I agree, though I could say similar things about a lot of artists. A Transformers-only piece would be awesome, wouldn’t it? Prime, Bumblebee and who else?

Don’t know why Streethawk was included. The art is great, don’t get me wrong, but when I think of iconic 80s cars or vehicles, I don’t think Streethawk. I hadn’t thought of it in I don’t know how long.

  4. I think the Street Hawk connection might be a British thing as I think of ‘Hawk in the same light as the others. I know the series didn’t last long but it was goofy fun with a great soundtrack :)

  5. I’d totally include Street Hawk. I kind of wish the General Lee had been jumping over the street from the one side of the canyon to the other in the background though… ;)
