Who wouldn’t want the Alligator game?

Recently I was listening to Doug McCoy’s podcast about the 1980 movie “Alligator”. This led me to seek out the movie which can be watched on YouTube in its entirety.

It had been several years since I saw the movie and so I enjoyed seeing it again. If you like cheesy, 70s and 80s horror movies, you will like it too. After watching it I looked up a few facts online and was surprised to see that a toy was released that was based on the movie. A search of Ebay turned up this awesome looking game. The object was to spin the wheel and then either put or take items from the alligator’s jaws before it would snap shut.

I love retro toys, television, movies and just about anything from the 70s and 80s.I frequent flea markets, thrift shops, garage sales and auctions hoping to nab my next pop culture trophy.

  1. I had this alligator. I didn’t know he was part of a game and never had any of the other parts. I just used him to eat up my other action figures. A whole Star Wars figure could fit in his mouth.

This one can be yours for the $299 buy it now. I would love to have it but not at that price. I never knew this toy existed because I would have definitely bought it as a kid.

I had the similar “Jaws” game. It provided some entertainment at first, but I can’t say it was one of my favorite toys. But, I guess all of our toys got old sooner or later.
