Castlevania 2: Simon’s Quest TV Commercial (1988)

Castlevania 2 - Simon's Quest
I’ve talked before about my love for the original Castlevania game on the Nintendo Entertainment System…as well as the soul shattering difficulty I had at beating the game.

Yes, I was merely a withered husk of a Gamer after that epic battle to bring low Dracula and his minions but then one afternoon I saw this TV commercial…and realized that Simon Belmont and I hadn’t finished the job.

To be honest, Castlevania 2: Simon’s Quest is probably my favorite of all the series and the one I will continuously pull out and play a couple of hours just to listen to the awesome music.

  1. I got all 3 NES castlevania games at once. Castlevania 2 did have great music, but it was a very boring & frustrating game. You play until you reach the dead end on the right, then you go back & play till you reach the dead end on the left, wash rinse repeat ad nauseum. It wasn’t until I got internet access that I learned of all the things like sitting there with the orb to make the tornado come & other ways to get past the various dead ends.
Castlevania 3 was my favorite by far. It had plenty of variety in the levels, and being able to plays as the pirate & the monk was fun.

  2. I think the greatest thing about the commercial is the announcer calling the villagers cowardly, something about that just cracks me up.

Drahken, did you have a favorite character in Castlevania 3? Mine was Alucard. :)
