Super Turbo Train with Daredevil Jump!


When I was a kid, I was very much into toy trains and mini slot car racing. Then one day, a commercial started airing on TV that caught my attention. It was advertising a product that combined trains and slot racing. Turbo Train! It was a train that moved incredibly fast and can even defy gravity by going up the wall. Tyco, who made this set, wasn’t satisfied with cool. A couple of years later, in 1988 I believe, they went full on awesome with SUPER Turbo Train with Daredevil Jump!     I don’t remember that ad. Looks like it was a fun toy, but it also looks like it would have been a pain in the butt to assemble, though. And once assembled, I wonder how many adjustments would’ve had been needed to get it to work properly.

  2. The pieces of this train set are what was used in TOM SERVO’s hoverskirt in Mystery Science Theater. They just painted each train car black then glued them down around the perimeter of the inverted Salad bowl acting as his bottom. And now you know…
