DC Nation Short: Doom Patrol – Challenge Of The Timeless Commander

Doom Patrol - DC Nation
Now here is a nice little treat for us fans of DC Comics Silver Age! DC Nation over on Cartoon Network aired this short featuring the Doom Patrol in what is pretty much an adaptation from their first comic book appearance in My Greatest Adventure issue #80.

I’ve not been able to find any evidence that there are plans for a continuing series or even more shorts but after watching a mere 1:15 of this special I certainly hope that we will be lucky enough to see a full series. If you are not that familiar with the awesomeness that was the Doom Patrol I highly suggest you give Daniel XIII’s article a quick read!

Update: Thanks to IMDB I’ve learned that there were two more shorts released. The shorts in total while only numbering three are given higher numbers for their chapters. So after Chapter 1: Challenge of the Timeless Commander we have Chapter 6: Trail of the Terrible Titan and then Chapter 10: The Spy Within The Doom Patrol.

Thanks to IMDB once again we now know that Clancy Brown (Highlander, The Shawshank Redemption) lent his voice as Negative Man in the shorts, Kari Wahlgren (Tangled, Bolt) was the voice of Elasti-Girl, David Kaye (Up, Dragon Ball Z) lends his vocal talents to the character of Robotman, and none other than Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator, The Frightners) was the voice of the Chief!
