I loved watching the Adventures of Rin Tin Tin as a kid and attempted time and again to treat one of our family dogs like this super intelligent canine star. Sadly none of them lived up to Rin Tin Tin’s capabilities. It was only a later in life (I am not that bright), that I discovered that films were not real and that it often required multiple take to get Rin Tin Tin to do what I saw him do on-screen.
This might have saved my family a bunch of Christmas trees as I tried to teach our dogs to trim the tree like Rin Tin Tin and time and again they simply dropped the ornament or knocked the tree over.
