The 1989 Pontiac Stinger Would have Built Fun!

It is the late 1980s, so if you see a group of people in white overalls in an all white room you know colorful paint is about to be thrown around and we are going to have fun. And fun is was the concept Stinger from Pontiac is all about.

I had never even heard of the Stinger until I saw this video, but it does look suitably futuristic for the late 1980s. How did I gauge “futuristic” in 1989? Well it has glass just about everywhere AND more importantly it has a CD player…right in the car.

You can see the start of the gray plastic cladding that dominated Pontiacs through the 1990s in that car. It reached its peak (or nadir) in the maligned Aztec.
