Saturday Frights: The New Twilight Zone – “Cold Reading” (1986)

Saturday Frights - Sean Hartter
Welcome back to all of you fans of fiendish film and TV! Those howls you hear from the creatures of the night need be no cause for alarm, you are safe down here with us in the Retroist vault! Us? Yeah, that’s the one and only Doug McCoy behind the concession stand and you can see the esteemed Daniel XIII manning the projector. We also have good friend to the Retroist site Claymation Werewolf as head usher and Phishbo3s in the ticket booth!

For your viewing pleasure this evening we have a wonderfully fun episode from the ‘New’ Twilight Zone back in 1986 entitled ‘Cold Reading’. It concerns a group of radio actors that find whatever they say…starts to materialize in the flesh within the studio as they are recording. I give the 1985 Twilight Zone revival a hard time because to be honest I think they fail or don’t reach the mark when attempting comedy, this segment however is a win.
