Steve Niles knows a thing or two about art related to the spooky and nightmarish, being the creator of 30 Days of Night, Criminal Macabre, and Simon Dark. He also happens to know that it’s the perfect time to share images on his Tumblr like you see above!

The 1962 45 RPM record featuring the theme song for the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh was thankfully uploaded by R Doyle Matthews and is a slightly slower version of the Walt Disney TV show’s theme song. It was performed by the Wellingtons, who happened to also record the theme song for “The Wonderful World of Color”, “The Ballad of Davy Crockett”, and “Gilligan’s Island”!

  1. Atari Adventure Square says:

Watched the Scarecrow movies again, a short while back.
    Tremendously thrilling, still today.
Reminds me we kids had high-quality TV entertainment from the good folks at Disney.

Also reminds me how Patrick McGoohan was an original hero figure to my eyes, before he lent himself to baddie roles later on.
