Guillermo Del Toro’s Couch Gag For The Simpsons: Treehouse Of Horror XXIV Is Chock Full Of Retro Love!

The Simpsons - Treehouse of Horror XXIV
For 24 years the Simpsons has been entertaining fans around the world and while for myself I sadly cannot watch the show on a regular basis any longer due to work demands, I make sure to catch the show’s Treehouse of Horror specials when they air. I cannot think how Guillermo del Toro could have possibly filled this year’s intro or ‘Couch Gag’ with more retro love than is already evident in the video below. Some of my favorite moments to name just a few are the appearance of Rod Serling, H.P. Lovecraft, Cthulhu, the Morlocks, Gort, and of course the Universal Monsters!

  1. @Chris I am glad you liked it! Next time you see Guillermo give him a giant hug for his awesomeness.
    @Vinvectrex I know…I actually caught a new reference I had missed earlier. :)

    Yes it is a great intro and requires several views to catch all the references/homages.

    The annual special was great. The Dr. Seuss parody is the best segment they’ve done in years.
