Get Into The Halloween Spirit With This Beatles Animated Cartoon! (1965)

The Beatles Cartoon
While touring in Transylvania the Fab Four find too many of their fans are getting in the way of their rehearsals, thankfully Ringo knows of the perfect place for them to practice and not be disturbed. Unfortunately that happens to be a castle inhabited by all manner of monsters…

…and it appears the Beatles die at the end of the episode. Wait, what? Really, check it out for yourself and see if you disagree with me.

  1. So many great things about this.

First of all, I used to watch this in the mid 80s when it was played on Channel 60 in Chicago. It’s such an odd cartoon with its sparse layouts, disconnected writing and random use of songs.

I don’t recall this particular episode. But I love Thurl Ravenscroft as the Frankenstein! And notice the not so feminine voice for the Vampira character?

And yes, I don’t know why, but they die. Yet, their music lives on.
