The Magic Mummy (1933)

The Magic Mummy
I’ve not had the pleasure before this morning of viewing this 1933 Van Beuren Studios animated short entitled ‘The Magic Mummy’. It’s about two Police officers named Tom and Jerry who hear upon their car radio (or gramophone!) that another mummy has been stolen from the museum. The two witness a strange sight, a cloaked man carrying a sarcophagus through the cemetery where he unveils a secret underground entrance! Can Tom and Jerry get to the bottom of this ghoulish mystery?

By the way the voice of the Mummy is none other than Margie Hines, the voice of Olive Oyl from the 1938 – 1944 Popeye animated shorts!
