You all might recall a few months back that we announced that fellow Retroist writer Patrick J. Doody and his co-writing and producing partner, Chris Valenziano, had started production in Hollywood on their thriller entitled “Beneath”. Patrick has been kind enough to send us this exciting bit of news:
“The thriller we wrote, Beneath, was just announced as being in the lineup for this year’s Screamfest – the longest running horror film festival in the US. This is very exciting for us as this script went out wide in April of 2012, was picked up the following October and produced this past May.
The film was directed by Ben Ketai and stars Jeff Fahey, Kelly Noonan and Joey Kern. It was produced by The Revolver Picture Company.”
You can keep up to date with the film project by following the Space Zombie Films Facebook Page, the summary from the Screamfest announcement for Beneath states: “A crew of coal miners becomes trapped 600 feet below ground after a disastrous collapse. As the air grows more toxic and time runs out, they slowly descend into madness and begin to turn on one another. Inspired by true events. – World Premiere”
We will continue to update you with further news as Patrick shares it and let’s all give the many talented actors and crew a mighty congrats and best wishes when Beneath has its World Premiere at Screamfest 2013!
