Just check out this amazing photo shared on Marvel Comics: The Untold Story Facebook Page. Not sure where the photograph was taken back in 1987 but I would assume it was during Comic-Con or something as you have you have Bill Mumy (Lost in Space), Jack Kirby (X-Men, Fantastic Four to name a few), Jerry Siegel (Co-creator of Superman), Bob Kane (Co-Creator of Batman), Mark Hamill (Star Wars), and Miguel Ferrer (Robocop) in the same shot!

Make sure to hop over to the Facebook Page to see more fantastic photos and pieces of sequential artwork, if you would like to learn more about the behind the scenes workings of Marvel Comics back in the early days and up until the 90s you should head over to Amazon.Com and buy the book!

  1. This pic was taken at my house. My wife Eileen and I hosted a dinner party for Jack, Jerry, Bob and wives and friends. I’d met them, and many more Golden Age Greats through the late great Julie Schwartz. Jack, Jerry and Bob hadn’t been in the same room together in over 40 years! All I had to do was invite them. It was truly an amazing evening that lasted long into the night. One of my favorite “accomplishments”. They were titans! Each, VERY different. Jack was full of encouragement and compliments and had amazing stories to share, which he eagerly did. Jerry was sweet as can be; shy and somewhat quiet. Bob was gregarious and quite full of himself in an endearing way. A wonderful memory. Photo by my wife, Eileen.

  2. Yep, like I said. I did realize after posting it that this is in fact the same year as Robocop, maybe that is why Miguel was at Comic-Con with his friend Billy Mumy?

  3. Thanks a million for giving us the heads up on the photo, Mr. Mumy, those memories are incredible and thank you for sharing! I apologize that your comment got lost in the system and wasn’t posted before I responded.

By the way, I was able to catch you and the rest of the Seduction of the Innocent at Comic-Con…back in I believe was 1997 or 1998. Fantastic stuff. Miguel Ferrer had the line of the night with “Okay. This one is for all you hippie chicks!”
