Remember the Vertibird?

I was an ace pilot, it was hard dropping a road block on a 2 foot stretch of Route 5, but I mastered it like a pro. I can’t tell you how many hours I spent on my knees going for a hook up. Hey, get your mind out of the gutter, I was just a kid!! Watch the commercial, you know what I mean. Sure, the standard stretch of Route 5, the roadblock, and the bank robber car were fun, but the real fun came when I talked my brother into laying on his back, and letting me go for a hook up on his face, er, damn, now you have my mind in the gutter. I would talk him into letting me try to snag different things off of his forehead, anything that we could find that the hook would grab was fair game. Like I said, I was an ace pilot, although my brother still has a faint scar above his right eyebrow, I got caught in a downdraft while trying to lift a play-dough Godzilla and auto-rotated into his face….

I had one of those – it was awesome…

Combined it with a Lego Police station that had a helipad and I was set for hours…

To me, Vertibird was one of the best toys of its era. I wanted one, but never got one. My best friend got it for Christmas one year–it was the only thing I wanted to do when I went to his house.
