Even Dwarfs Started Small was one of those movies that you catch late one night on a late late late movie and somehow miss the title. Then you would spend the rest of your life trying to figure out what it was called by trying to recount the plot to friends. That was of course, pre-internet. Now you enter a few search terms and boom, Even Dwarfs Started Small is the answer to a riddle of a night of movie watching.
For me the riddle began in college. I could not sleep one night, so I went down to the main lounge and 3 people were asleep on the couches there and this odd movie with little people doing bizarre things was on the screen. I watched the whole thing in stunned silence. The sleeping people never woke up, so the watching experience, while technically a group effort was really a solo viewing. Which I think is the appropriate to watch this Werner Herzog film.
So here is the film, complete on YouTube for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy.
