Ever since I saw a Monorail featured on the Wonderful World of Disney, I have been infatuated with them. Despite my Mother’s stern warnings I saved up and bought a money order for a mail order monorail I found in a magazine. I am not sure it was this comic ad, I remember sending around 5 dollars for mine. I wish I could say I was disappointed in the quality of the toy, but I cannot. The stupid thing never came! I checked off days on the calendar waiting for it and nothing. After a month I asked my Mother what I could do about not getting my toy? She said, probably nothing. I was much less trusting about mail-order after the monorail incident. It left me with such a bad taste in my mouth that even much later in life, I was averse to sending away for stuff via check or money order.
Luckily the Internet broke me of that.
