Originally airing on CBS Television starting in 1957 the popular Western ‘Have Gun, Will Travel’ found itself spawning an also popular radio show on November 23, 1958. In the beginning the radio show was merely adaptations of the television show that had been broadcast earlier in the week but original stories were produced soon enough and the radio program even provided a finale where the character of Paladin left San Francisco to claim an inheritance back East.
Richard Boone played the gunslinger for hire on television from 1957 until 1963 but the role of Paladin went to John Dehner for the radio show.
So leave the dishes in the sink, unplug the phone and let us travel to a more simpler time with Have Gun, Will Travel and the ‘Strange Vendetta’.
