A big thanks to our friends over at Abrams Books who have graciously provided us with a copy of their comprehensive history of the bubble gum icon Bazooka Joe to giveaway to one lucky fan of bubble gum and great retro comic strips!

You can check out my review of the book that I posted here. So I’m sure the question you are asking yourself is how you might be able to obtain a copy of the book for yourself? You just have to merely leave a comment to be entered in the drawing, it’s just that easy!

That’s pretty boss, thanks for the post & the contest!! Good luck to all of us who enter :)

I remember when I was a kid I had hundreds of the little comics wrappers that I had collected. Kept most of them in the leather pocket of my bible carrier…for some odd reason. It’s a shame that the comics are pretty much ending. I would love this book. Wish I still had my original collection. No idea of where they ended up. Probably the same place that my Matchbox Voltron, Castle Greyskull, and Voltron castle and Thundercats Lair ended up….the great toybox in the sky.

  3. Good luck everyone! Erick, I’ve got a giant bag of Bazooka Joe gum beside me…as soon as I chew it all we will pick a winner. Should be next week. :)

  4. Count me in too. Sad that they’ve decided to rebrand BAZOOKA JOE and remove the comics and characters. All they needed to do was modernize the characters, give them some ADULT SWIM edge, change the prizes into digital download and make the gum softer!

Cool, I’d also like to enter a contest for some dental work to fix the tooth I cracked on that gum.

  6. I wish I could find the new Bazooka gum around here. I want to see what they replaced the comics with. The book looks great!

Would appreciate being entered. I remember the big bucket of Bazooka gum at my Little League’s concession stand….5 cents a piece. Great gum, great memory.
