Home Movies of Six Flags Great Adventure (1980)

I have many good memories of days spent at the Six Flags Great Adventure theme park in my home state of New Jersey. Sadly I have no photos or videos from my time there. Because of this I was very happy to find this home video footage online that shows the park as it was in 1980.

It makes me want to flume for miles.

  1. That gianormous teepee tent!
It was always so hot and sweaty in there whenever we went in.
It’s part of the “frontier” section with the log flume, runaway train, etc.
You know, celebrating NJ’s frontier/goldrush historical heritage?
    It’s a souvenir/gift shop- I wonder if it’s still there?

  2. It has been a while since I went to Six Flags, but I remember going there with my friends in my High School years (I think on Physics Day). We rode the Flume repeatedly and we would see the Teepee from the flume and we would chant, “Super Teepee! Super Teepee!” I think we rode it 6 times in a row. Magic times.

I grew up in NJ. No summer was complete without at least one visit to Great Adventure.
