Cartoon Classics – Bottles (1936)

A cartoon about Bottles? Why not. I can only imagine how the story writing meeting for this cartoon went.

“Hey, how about a cartoon about bottles?”

“We can do better than that.”

“Oh c’mon its almost lunch.”

“Bottles it is!”

I had not seen this cartoon since the 1980s and I cannot recall which channel used to air it, but I remember it quite well from just the opening scene. That skeleton is very well done and haunted me.

I remember this too from my childhood.

My God, alot of these 1930’s MGM shorts were really creepy-looking, in contrast to contemporary Warner bros. and Disney works.

hard to believe it’s the same studio that would make Tom&Jerry, Droopy, and the superb Tex Avery gems the following decade.
