The Nairobi Trio

One time when I was a kid I saw an Ernie Kovacs tribute on television. Although most of the humor went over my head, a couple of skits stuck with me including this one, the Nairobi Trio. The longer you watch it, the funnier it gets. I really need to pick up the Ernie Kovacs collection on DVD.

  1. I watched the Ernie Kovacs show with my dad on weekends along with Benny Hill and a few other “oddball” shows he liked. The comedy was WAY over my head at the time. I can’t say the style has grown on me almost 30 years later but things like this are a great snapshot of what was acceptable as comedy…especially considering the racial stereotypes.
