  1. I hope it’s available to Canadians because it looks interesting. I’m currently reading a book called Decade of Nightmares: The End of the Sixties and the Making of Eighties America by Philip Jenkins. It seems interesting that while the 1970s shaped modern, global politics, this show is arguing that the 1980s shaped modern, pop culture. I’d be really interested to watch.

  2. Wow… That was incredibly… disappointing. …And to think, I could have spent those 2 hrs watching paint dry. They drag out every single thing way beyond the point where everyone has fallen into a coma (except for the extremely rare topics that we actually WANT to hear about), plus the topics they chose….. Ugh. Hockey, aerobic, friggin rap, reagan getting shot, calvin klein, steve jobs being against “the man” (despite the fact that he & his corporation turned into the villain of the very 1984 novel that he parodied in his infamous commercial). The only remotely interesting or entertaining topics they hit upon were mtv and the rubik’s cube, but they glossed voer each of those in an instant.
If you either are an insomniac in need of a powerful sleep aid or someone who sits on the edge of his seat, enthralled at cnn and cspan, be sure to watch this. If you are a masochist & cand find a belt sander to remove your own skin with, watch this. If you are anyone else, avoid it as if your sanity depended upon it (because it just might).
