Game shows are a strong lure, it would seem. I was on Jeopardy! once, which I only bring up to talk about a contestant coordinator who casually mentioned the dozen or so game shows he’d been on over the years, including Sale of the Century. That was a great, product-promoting Price is Right-like show on NBC daytime in the ’80s, which I mainly know for the trivia nugget that future Studs host Mark DeCarlo was that show’s all time biggest winner. From game show winner to game show host of Studs. Which itself is another source of trivia in that Ron Goldman, one of the two people O.J. Simpson may or may not have murdered, was once a contestant on Studs.
Here’s DeCarlo killing it on Sale of the Century.
