Garfield for the Atari 2600 never got past the prototype phase, but it looked like it would have been a mighty fine game. The welcoming screen alone makes me feel warm inside, so I turned it into a wallpaper.

As an E.T. apologist, I’m a fan of games where the opening screen is the best part. I’d have bought this.
If the cartridge was nothing more than 2.5 minutes of an animation with of this quality, I’d pay to have that in my collection.
Wasn’t there a C-64 Garfield game? I wonder if it would have been a port of that? Great wallpaper though! :D
This garfield game was made in 84. While there are a couple c64 ones, they didn’t come out till around 89. There is a NES one which has somewhat similar graphical style, but it too came out it 89. I suspect that the NES one was a sort of port/reimagining of the 2600 one.
