So what is the best size for action figures? 3 3/4 inch? 8 inch? 12 inch? Well, back in 1977 Ideal Toy Company rolled the dice on a behemoth action figure named Electroman. Measuring a whopping 16 inches tall, Electroman towered above other figures of that time. As you can see in the picture, Electroman is huge! I found this one at a flea market last year and he has become a favorite of mine. Missing are his tall black boots which I hope to find online one day. There is a light on his head and a siren noise he uses to battle his arch enemy. Electroman takes 3 C batteries. Ideal produced the toy in 1977 and it was not very successful. I am curious if any of you had one or even remember this toy?

That is the 8 inch Remco Dracula he is standing next to here. Ideal also produced a companion toy named Zogg the Terrible. Zogg had a target on his head that would make him fall over when struck by Electroman’s light flash. Zogg also came with a gun you could fire at him in case you did not own an Electroman. I would love to find a Zogg to go with Electroman one day.

I think even in ’77, that toy was a complete throwback to the 60s. I seem to remember as a kid thinking it was a little odd.
Zogg looks like he should come apart and a smaller Zogg should be on the inside, or he should be used a mold to make more Zoggs.
I have an electroman for sale on ebay along with lots of other retro toys. If interested look up user alcore2011. Thanks
I’ve got a Zogg if you are still looking for one. He’s in pretty good shape, but missing the door to the battery compartment and putting batteries in has no effect.
