My hopes for an Automan reboot keep diminishing with each decade that passes since the show’s untimely demise. I had always been hoping to get a live-action reboot, but maybe I had been thinking about this all wrong. Perhaps a digital animated series would be more apt for Automan…

I had always loved the automan show, and was totally bummed when it died off so quickly.
“Green Please” “Yes, Automan.” Miss that show.
Animated Automan would surely work.
But the real challenge (and enjoyment) would be in a fresh live-action output.
The closest thing to a TRON tv show we ever had.
No, there’s actually an animated Tron TV show on Disney XD. At least there was; I kept missing it so I don’t know if it’s still on or if it’s any good.
What’s Automan ?
It was a show with huge potential back in 1983. It just couldn’t land an audience at the time.
Oh man, I loved this show. I could never find it on DVD in the states, but stumbled upon it floating around the pirate-nets and had a little marathon a few years ago.
I’m always amazed at how short the runs really are on shows like this, because I could have sworn it went on for so long when I was a little kid.
Automan is officially released on Region 2 DVD. I ordered it last night from Amazon UK. All 13 episodes plus a 42-minute retrospective with the cast & crew.
Hmmm never saw this show at all. Where can I catch it?
There are full episodes on veoh.
The dvd set arrived in the mail today!
The retrospective feature is good. Has interviews with Desi Arnaz Jr., Chuck Wagner, Heather McNair (who still looks great by the way), and Glen Larson. Very informative about the making of the series.
