Getting There is Half the Fun with a Mobile Home … Especially if “There” is a Shallow Grave in the Middle of Nowhere

Now I am all for the romantic notion of throwing off the shackles of the working world and seeing America in a mobile home. But even I know that when the person takes you out to a stark, almost lunar landscape on a “vacation”. They are probably going to kill you.

Um, Retroist? That’s a beach. Plus, she looks really swingin’, and he would not be so un-gallant as to do her in at a romantic spot like a beach. This was the hip, and happy-go-lucky 70’s, not the cynical and self-fulfilling 90’s.

    Plus, that motorhome is neato.

You need to give some slack to The Retroist. He is a product of the East Coast, more exactly New Jersey, like myself. The idea of being able to park your mini-Camper out on the actual beach is completely unthought of- that stuff don’t fly on the Jersey Shore. Dune-buggying, horseriding-in-the-tide and, yes, camper-parking-on-the-beach are very non-Jersey, West Coast seaside activities. Besides, it looks like there’s already a shallow grave where they parked- perhaps that’s exclusively a West Coast thing as well?
