Lite-Brite & Weebles, man you nailed it again. I loved both as a kid and had hours of fun, “Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down”.

Hearing this great show made me realize how holiday TV ads from the past have the most direct connection to my retro memories than any song, special, toon or movie.

I think it’s the shortness of that burst of sensorial recognition that played (and still plays) like a beacon in the dusty horizon of my flashbacks.
I was so receptive to new concepts of play presented in – what? was it a minute back then? – a short time during the breaks.
I’d soak it all up and think about the new toys, often more than the show I was watching.

But really, my mind is conditioned to recall two-minute breaks.
But I think it closer to one minute, wasn’t it? Or maybe two one-minute breaks in a row, interrupted by station ID or five-second animated bits from the show.

I was kinda surprised to catch a 60s cop show *with ads* on the Tubes a while back, and found that the breaks were swift and the show itself covered about 55 minutes of the hour.
