Pre “Weird Al” Alfred Yankovic on the Zygot Joke Line (circa 1975)

The Zygot Joke Line was located in Downey, California in the mid-1970s and was run by Mike Solton. The skits were recorded on an 8-track player and were popular often receiving thousands of calls per day. When their was a busy signal callers were able to talk to each other making it a kind of party line.

The skits were recorded and written by Mike Solton and Alfred Yankovic who later became “Weird Al” Yankovic.
