  1. I was fortunate enough to meet the good Doctor for a Spike Jones retrospective put together by Spike Jones Jr at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills.

    I was half expecting funny horns, sparklers and streamers to burst from his big top hat when I shook his hand. Alas, he’s actually very calm. Wonder if it’s his old age.

    This was really neat to see. I wonder if that version of Another One Rides The Bus* is the one Dr. Demento played for years on the air before it was re-recorded. If so, that’s pretty cool to have come to produce and interview and get to be ON the recording.

    *Yes, I’m a Weird Al fan. What of it?
