I remembering signing up when I turned 18 in 1989 and my mom was worried. I didn’t know at the time why she was so concerned. It turns out that my dad was almost drafted during Nam and she was afraid I would be if a war broke out.

I’m amazed how the draft was looming for my parents but never was a concern for my generation.
