Spooky board games are a great niche collection. The board art is always interesting and, of course, fits this time of year. I always enjoy it when horror meets the sea so “Haunted Treasure Hunt” ranks near the top of classic spooky games. Released in 1975 by Milton Bradley, “Haunted Treasure Hunt” challenged players to be the first to finish with the most treasure. An old sea captain’s house rests high on a cliff overlooking the sea. Rumor has it he buried his treasure on the house grounds.
The game play is similar to Operation. It features electronics and the board is a layout of the sea captain’s grounds. The players try to pick out the treasure pieces without disturbing his ghost.
